A ‘violent and dangerous’ rapist who repeatedly attacked a woman over several months has had his ‘lenient’ sentence increased by more than four years.Over the following months between summer 2018 and spring 2019 he assaulted her a number of times, sometimes leaving her requiring hospital treatment.
As well as assaulting her, Vacciana also repeatedly raped her. He was finally arrested when she managed to call the police after one particularly serious attack.AdvertisementHe was jailed for 13 and a half years with an extended licence period of four years at Snaresbrook Crown Court back in March. However, the Solicitor General, Michael Ellis QC MP, referred the case to the Court of Appeal, arguing that the sentence was unduly lenient. After the hearing, Mr Ellis said: ‘Vacciana is a dangerous individual who has shown no remorse for his sickening behaviour.
