Not the only example where lack of language has caused na problem in this crisis. Demonstrates more should be done to ensure everyone speaks English as it is often too late when people are confronted with this problem on the ground.
My first thought was ‘is it down to a lack of interpreters?’, which is corroborated by the line ‘dearth of interpreters’. Given The Guardian’s attack on prominent female journalists recently, this feels a little off key. These charities lack funding is the key message.

Real service to humanity is the services we do volunteerly. Once the service is forced upon or doing it to seek attention or appreciation, then what ever the services we do, is not going to live an exemplary mark on humanity.

One can understand that service providers must be able to communicate with those seeking services, especially to ensure their safety, and there are ways in which this can take place. They need to think out of the box instead of simply rejecting those in need.
They also turn away the 45% of victims of domestic violence who are male. This is a serious and ongoing issue that gets very little press coverage, the Caroline Flack case had the opportunity to change that.
