Theresa May would be wise to learn from Tony Blair’s Iraq war mistake, writes Guardian columnist Martin Kettle

It is still just about possible, with a sustained deployment of the imagination, to conceive of a set of circumstances in which Theresa May might still be able to regard her Brexit policy as a success.

This is the same Martin Kettle who supported Blair over Iraq. They were both wrong then; they are both wrong now.

Fake Comparison. Brexit - leaving the EU - isn't the same thing as invading Iraq.

Uk politicians ignore UK citizens at their peril.

So Kettle will accept that Blair made a slight error over Iraq, but only to push Mandelson's People's Vote march. How about protests in France, should Macron take heed of those? Nahhhh.

A parliament should make decisions for the people. Right or wrong, left or right, but decide already! It's been two years of standing still on the issue.

If the guardian stopped brexit they’d peril the biggest protests in history

Labour ignored 1 mil+ against the Iraq war.

Really... Tony Blair* is doing alright and you lot still love him *he was the PM who ignored the largest public protest in UK history on 15th Feb 2003 and was PM for 4 more years and remains the richest PM of all time while continuing to pontificate about crap on TV constantly

The PM is now working against the interests of the UK. Intending to pursue an secret backroom agreement made with EU, rejected by Parliament. No matter the cost/consequences to the sovereignty of the UK, entangling us further with the EU against democratic will. NoDeal Resign
