Twin Brothers Jailed for Murder of Dad on Doorstep

Brett and Jordan Francis seemed to have everything going for them, but they swapped it all for a life behind bars.

A paramedic arrived on the doorstep of the home in Runcorn, Cheshire, within minutes. There she found Jordan doubled over.. The first bullet hit him the chest, the second narrowly missed and lodged in the brickwork, while the third entered his lower back as he turned and slumped to the floor. As neighbours tried in vain to save his life, a stolen BMW 5 series sped from the scene.

There they checked into the Campanile Hotel. After asking at reception where they could buy paracetamol, they caught a cab to a petrol station and bought two packs of Nurofen. For three days they batted away all police questions. And when the case came to court in February 2010 they denied any involvement in the murder, each claiming they were at home at the time.

The court heard that one day Manny rang Jordan demanding he pay back the money for the missing cannabis and if he didn't have it suggested he get him some 'work', meaning set up a drug deal. He turned to his brother Brett, who within three or four days had brokered a deal with a Manchester-based dealer, who agreed to lay £12,000 of heroin on credit.
