Earlier, Mr Trump's top economic adviser, Larry Kudlow, said"both sides will suffer" from the trade dispute."We are right where we want to be with China. Remember, they broke the deal with us & tried to renegotiate," Mr Trump wrote in a post on Twitter.

Trump isn't defiant, you Economic illiterates, he's playing a game of chicken with an Opposition that has far more to lose than he has. This will only end up with either the Chinese capitulating or American companies relocating their supply chain to avoid the tariffs. Simples
And another top advisor said US would suffer a great deal more. It's US businesses who will have to pay this tariff, and it will be passed on to consumers. Meanwhile China will find other trade avenues; there's no shortage of interest.
