Wales train passengers face 5.9% price rise

He said that fares had previously increased each year in line with the rate of inflation, but "instead of fares increasing by 12.3% in 2023, the increase will now be capped at 5.9%".

He said the budget settlement from Westminster and a reduced income from passengers since the pandemic meant "difficult choices" in order to maintain current levels of train services.

This is not the way forward if the government wants us to ditch the car and use public transport, public transport is expensive compared to Europe and is unreliable.

Thank God I don't travel on the train in Wales, for one I don't want to get ripped off, and for two not all the trains are one time.

We will save the planet by making mass transit so expensive that everyone wants to stay in their little metal boxes and bomb around individually.

Think I'll stick to my Range Rover Thunberg Planet Fucker. Avoiding chavs and the general peasant population.

So I can be delayed and pay more. Fantastic

Cue, the people supporting RMT big pay rises, now complaining about fees.

Labour government for you.

At this rate the makers of KY jelly are gonna be making massive profits too. We’re all gonna need some to soothe the shafting we’re all getting. Everywhere you look it’s more cost and less stuff. Yeaaaaaa.

Meal deal restrictions in Wales could be 'very dangerous' for people with eating disorders, charity warnsA leading charity has criticised proposals to restrict items that form part of meal deals - arguing the move could be 'very dangerous' for people with eating disorders Charities are nice little earners for the people who set them up, usually white liberal middle classes who earn a very good salary for making the occasional statement to justify their existence. Why are they called Meal Deals when they cost a small fortune and the sandwiches are generally limp with no real filling. It takes 5 minutes to make a lunch box with some tasty sandwiches at a fraction of the cost 👍 Pathetic policy, people will just purchase single items instead. Won't solve a thing, near the same policy as paracetamol max size packs to stop you committing suicide, if determine just go to multiple shops. Pathetic from welsh government again.
