Tokyo 2020 composer apologises for historical bullying of disabled classmates

Oyamada, who is better known as Cornelius, sparked fury on social media after reports resurfaced of magazine interviews he gave in the 1990s when he discussed, apparently without remorse, bullying at least one disabled classmate. It makes me nauseous just reading this Guardian’s report. I believe this composer committed a crime, but he is trying to get away with it by playing it down. I’ve never listened to his music, and I hope that I don’t have to listen to it during the Olympics.

Don't be fooled by people all over the world. The Japanese are only blaming him for being reported by the Guardian. They do the same at school in primary education. Rather, a social system has been built in which oneself is at risk by not actively participating in abuse.

At the time of his debut, Keigo Oyamada was popular in Japan for his songs based on 'British music'. 'After the breakup of The Flipper's Guitar, he continued his activities as Cornelius. The first overseas report of this issue appeared in a British newspaper! Thanks.

One of the most shocking things is that he was in his mid-20's when interviewed, and said then what he had done could be described as 'crimes against humanity'(rough translation), but he did not seem to show much remorse then, so the public are sceptical he is truly sorry now.
