Winter is approaching and so are colder temperatures, leaving many worried about how it will affect their pockets.
The energy saving scheme, set up by rapper and British Gas partner Professor Green, has already been to Bulwell and Newark but will be in St Ann’s on December 6 and 7 on Wells Road. Cathleen Betteridge, 75, from Top Valley said: “I’m considering getting a job at 75 and I’ve not switched my gas on since March. Everyone’s the same at the moment, I feel sorry for those with kids."
It is the only chip shop in Nottinghamshire to be shortlisted - and hopes to repeat the success of its sister shop in Wollaton which was crowned the best takeaway in the UK in 2020. The awards, which have been going for more than 30 years, celebrate the nation's favourite dish, while championing the eclectic eateries that hold up the popular British tradition.
Street style Ruth Hardiman wore a "warm" and "classic" look as she was in the city centre. The 82-year-old said: "I usually, like a lot of people, see something and try it on then buy it." Ruth, who is originally from Manchester and lives in The Park, likes to shop in stores rather than online as she finds trying on clothes helps her decide if they are worth buying.
