Blackburn billionaire brothers Mohsin and Zuber transformed a £25m Knightsbridge home to create a luxury basement that has a vehicle lift.
The Grade II listed Georgian house was left in a state of disrepair for a lot of years after the previous owners ran out of money while transforming the basement. It was in 2008 that workers quit and in 2011 the property was sold for £28million to a company registered in the British Virgin Islands. The basement has been dubbed a so-called iceberg basement - because the above-ground portion of the property is only a fraction of the story. Built across three stories, after the renovations, the Blackburn pair had a garage with a vehicle lift, a swimming pool, gym, music room, and cinema plus three additional bedrooms. The £25m home is grand, with multiple reception rooms and a master bedroom suite taking over the whole of the second floor.
The brothers, who both attended Witton Park High School, were brought up by Indian-born Vali and Zubeda who came to the UK from Gujarat in the 1960s to work in Lancashire's textile industry. Their parents later ran a petrol pump which no doubt sparked the inspiration behind the creation of Euro Garages by Mohsin and Zuber in 2001.
