apanese researchers have discovered the Omicron covid variant can survive longer than earlier versions of the coronavirus on plastic surfaces and human skin.The data is still yet to be peer-reviewed, but experts reckon this longer life-span on surfaces and ability to remain infectious could have led to the Omicron variant becoming the dominant strain.
