“I can't ever imagine going back to a normal house again' Buying a tiny house helps couple tackle cost of living crisis

Cost of living: Buying a tiny house helps couple tackle crisisA couple from Surrey say they are tackling the cost of living crisis by purchasing a tiny house on wheels.

David Westwood and Becky Warren, from Newchapel, moved into the house they purchased from a company that specialises in eco homes three years ago. Since moving out of their rented house in London, the family's outgoings have been cut by more than half, allowing Mr Westwood to give up his gardening job.

He said: "Our quality of life has just increased dramatically. I can't ever imagine going back to a normal house again."

America has a lot of these tiny houses which is a surprise. This country has a lot of storms blowing down wooden houses £600.00 pcm to rent the pitch & pay bills is too expensive. It's what extortionate holiday home park owners charge I like the idea of affordable homes

Paying 7k a year rent for plot ?

JennyBarclayDow imagine this

'Cost of living crisis and stagnant wages forcing entire generation into caravan parks and debt bondage.' Would be a more accurate if slightly wordy title.

Lol

I dunno how this is okay while energy companies are making record profits.

“This week I are be mostly eating… insects”

I stopped at cost them £46k

It’s not a house though is it?

1 'full time academic'. 1 bloke that gave up his job. You could have just claimed Universal Credit and had your rent paid for you guys...

Behave! It’s a shed on wheels.. is this what we are asking our next generation to aspire to FFS!

The lady is a full time academic but the man is what

It’s being towed by a Range Rover? The car is definitely more expensive than the house? 😂

What has the world come to…I mean this people could genuinely be happy in there together but this just shows how broken our society is!

The absolute state that the UK is now in.

Zzzzzzzzz just white people then?

I'm not an expert but wouldn't buying a caravan be cheaper?

Im in sone bed flat, frozen with bills £100 every two weeks

Oh it's detached as well....

It's on wheels. It's called a caravan

Just love the fact it’s being towed by a Range Rover. Spend the money where it matters

Gonna hazard a guess and say they trying to get a fan base for their YouTube channel

Why should they have to? Did you ask that?

So they basically bought a shitty caravan for £50k that they could have had one half the price but with a lifespan of approx 15yrs and still they are paying £600 a month in rent😂😂 there is zero hope for the world. Should have moved north, bought a house for £70k no rent,🤷

Is this a joke?

WEF strikes again…..

'It's the sense of freedom you don't get with other holidays'. A lovely tale about living in a glorified caravan.

46K for a large shed :/ no thanks

This is what socialism will bring to us all and the bbc push for it

The laws in the UK make it EXTREMELY hard to have this be a viable option in most cases. Unfortunately, buying land and being self-sufficient is the absolute last thing this government wants you to be able to do.

KickingKKris

Y'know instead of doing this we could fix the cost of living crisis instead of continuing to let the rich and landlords loot our society. Cool propaganda though!

£600 per month, that’s not cheap.

It lookz like a shed. No thanks

Range Rover, Dyson stick vacuum.... yep the cost of living crisis is living up to its name.

Gypsies have been doing this for hundreds of years, southerners reinvent the wheel and get a back on the back

600 a month is a lot...

A caravan then but not a static one it’s a tourer.

They want you living in boxes and being content with cramped conditions. Read that again.

Nice for Boris

spent half of all the money on the LR

So we’re to live in hobbit holes now because we get fucked over by greedy political and corporate elites. How about people start squatting in the Houses of Parliament, after all we pay for it, we’re the shareholders & landlords. The current tenants have broken the contract.🖕🏻

£600 a month to live in a field. With no security of tenure. In a glorified caravan. Fantastic!

Buy a house then paying £600 a month for the pitch and power. Might as well have rented a house and saved 45 grand

Not sure about a tiny house but I definitely am considering a double wide

I get it. But it’s not future proof 👶🍼 And it’s not how we should be able to live our lives.

Affluent family heritage ?

Population growth problem worsened. Why not build affordable housing?. Oh land owned by the Rich!!

Not a bad idea if not planning to have a big family!

Or the government could just do something!

This is an advert.

Used to be called a mobile home

HEARTWARMING: Live in a shed to be able to afford to survive!

Better to tackle the Government on why there is a cost of living crisis!

The amount of millennials who start with a four bedroom detached does make me wonder how they afford it. We are making gerbils of ourselves to survive.
