Susanna Reid made a surprise appearance on Lorraine to share a very exciting announcement on Monday, 25 March. The presenter headed over to the studio where Lorraine is shot straight after presenting Good Morning Britain with Richard Madeley.
The GMB star informed Lorraine that she's being honoured with a BAFTA Special Award to celebrate the presenter’s 40 years in broadcasting. Lorraine joked: “I’m frightened”, before Susanna explained more about her surprise appearance. “On behalf of the BAFTA board of trustees, we are delighted to offer you Lorraine Kelly the Academy Special award to be presented at this year’s BAFTA Television Awards."
Lorraine is celebrating 40 years in broadcasting after joining the team at TV-am in 1984. Speaking about hitting the milestone and her incredible career, Lorraine said: "It’s crazy. I joined TVAM in 1984."
