Steve McQueen: lack of diversity could ruin Baftas' credibility

Steve McQueen has said the British Academy of Film and Television Arts risks becoming irrelevant, redundant and of no interest or importance unless it undergoes reform to avoid a repeat of this year’s nominations where there was a lack of diversity in many of the principal categories, including all the main acting awards.

I don't know if Steve McQueen has noticed or not but people in general are increasingly NOT giving a shit about celebrity circle jerks anymore, diverse or not. Unless rickygervais is hosting of course.

I prefer the word representation. If there was more representation from all ages, races, genders etc from the comittee that chooses the nominations it would be alot more farer and representative of the most well regarded films of the year

Ask and you shall receive Remember the Academy Awards getting slammed as well a few years back? What happened the following year? A record amount of African~American winners .but is that how ya want to win?
