Police did not confirm how many children were involved in the incident - or if any were still missing - but initial reports suggested there were up to six children in the frozen lake."When the fire service arrived at the scene, we were made aware there were up to six people in the water," Supt Harris said.
Teams can be seen searching the dark water at the local nature reserve on inflatable dinghies and using torches.He said he saw a number of people in distress, including three receiving medical attention. When I was 11 in Scotland, my friends and I walked on a frozen pond. One of my friends fell through the ice. Some brave friends rescued him by lying flat on the ice so their weight was distributed more widely and pulling him out. Dangerous of course
I struggle 2 grasp why ppl even go near 'frozen' ponds & makes- it 100% obvious is not safe & deadly. So sad when accidents happen cause it 100% avoidable, victims suffer but also someone else has 2 risk life trying 2 help.

We used to do that as kids, messing around on frozen lakes, skating and skidding about. I hope they're ok.
