Six to stand trial later this year over Nyle Corrigan murder

Nyle Corrigan died after sustaining a gunshot wound to the back, having been struck by a bullet on Boode Croft in Stockbridge Village in the early evening of November 12 2020. Martin Wilson, of no fixed address, is one of four men who have been charged with the 19-year-old's murder.

He appeared before Liverpool Crown Court this morning, Thursday, via video link to HMP Birmingham to face this charge, as well as a count of conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life. Wearing a turquoise On Cloud top, the 37-year-old spoke to confirm his name and date of birth.

Wilson's case was formally joined up with those of his co-defendants, and all six will now face a trial over the course of six weeks beginning on November 11. He has not yet been asked to enter any pleas, and was remanded into custody by the Honorary Recorder of Liverpool Judge Andrew Menary KC ahead of a further hearing on June 17.

Jamie Coggins, aged 27 and of the Spinney in Stockbridge Village, 26-year-old, Connor Smith, of Midway Road in Huyton, and 25-year-old Anthony Llewellyn, of no fixed address, have also been charged with Mr Corrigan's murder and the firearms offence. Melanie Smith and Mark Sharpe, aged 47 and 48 respectively and both of Midway Road, have been charged with assisting an offender in connection with the investigation.
