From someone who grew up spending weekends on my grandad's farm, or hiking in the Lake District, I think my biggest concern about moving to a city was the idea of having no outdoor spaces to enjoy. But Liverpool has given me that balance I needed with its unbelievably beautiful parks.
For those of you like me who are just moving to this incredible city, or even those who have lived here a while, please visit Sefton Park, I promise you won't be disappointed. There is of course a play park for children, and tennis courts to enjoy. But most importantly is the Palm House. The STUNNING dome-shaped Victorian palm house is surrounded by beautiful flowers and just looks idyllic - it has a little café where you can enjoy a coffee, it hosts events, markets, and weddings. You name it, can probably do it there.
But, my favourite thing in the park so far has got to be sitting and watching the sunset with my friends. On sunny days we've been taking our blankets to the park, laying out our picnics and pouring wine into our plastic cups and enjoying the sunset, while playing cards - anyone who knows me knows how much I LOVE the sunset - so you can imagine how much of a perfect evening this is for me. Oh, and I love taking my book to sit and read and enjoy the tranquillity of Sefton Park.
