The scene of the assault in the St Mungo Avenue area of Glasgow A 13-year-old boy was discovered with stab wounds moments away from a bus stop in Glasgow city centre. The serious assault happened in broad daylight at St Mungo Avenue, in the area of Townhead. Emergency services rushed to the scene just before 1.30pm on Thursday and the victim was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment. The schoolboy has since been discharged from hospital.
‘Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.’ The attack is a few miles from where another schoolboy, also 13, was stabbed last month. The child was discovered with stab wounds in the Queen’s Drive area near to the junction with Victoria Road around 8.30pm on March 8. There were 9,717 handling offensive weapon crimes recorded by the police in Scotland between March 2022 and April 2023, a slight decrease on the previous reporting year of 2020/21, when there were 10,048.
