Sadiq Khan: make face masks compulsory on London transport

Sadiq Khan has called on the government to make wearing face masks while travelling in London compulsory during the coronavirus outbreak.

Take the Czech approach They made Cloth Masks. They have lesser cases among European nations. In long term, set up a domestic Mask supply chain, manufacture mask, work with countries like Taiwan. Stop blindly Appeal to authorities like WHO.

Absoultely idiotic & completely out of touch.If care workers & nurses etc are struggling to get equip then where are the likes of us meant to get hold of one.First they want me working cause i'm key worker then they won't allow me to get to work unless I somehow get a mask

Main problem with expansive public masks, is not that it builds a false sense of security... It’s uncertainty & anxiety regarding motive of the wearer. Has the person next to you got symptoms OR is simply self-protecting? How comfortable would we all be with MaskColourCoding 😳

It's funny how Sadiq follows WHO's advice on NOT providing PPE to bus drivers, yet now he's going against their recommendations. You can't have it both ways Sadiq! In any case, bus drivers need to have their area taped off & passengers to get on and off at the back. 30 dead now!

Who is going to supply them? Who is going to teach people how to put on & remove safely so you don’t contaminate hands from inner & outer layers, as then you potentially spread to all touch points - most will just put in their pocket to wear on way home = “as good as useless”!!
