RUDE number plates spelling words like t*rd and B*****ks have been banned by the DVLA in a crackdown on cheeky cars.
Every year, officials at the DVLA in Swansea, Wales, receive hundreds of requests for personalised licence plates.The agency says it does its best to accommodate them - but bans anything that “may cause offence, embarrassment or are in poor taste”. And this year they found countless "offensive" requests while sifting through the latest requests for new "71" registration plates.
Some drivers were hoping to drive around with **71 OSS, **71 URD, **71 WAT, *S71 LUT *S71 UTS *S71 UTT *S71 UTY on their bonnets.And drivers hoping to have BO71 LOX, FA71 NNY or GU71 LTY also had their hopes dashed, as the crackdown banned the lot.**71 ARD
