The Royal Navy has confirmed the death of a marine who got into an accident at a Cornish beach on TuesdayThe serviceman was practising a jump from a landing craft when he got into trouble near the shoreline of Tregantle beach in Cornwall.
He and his comrades were loaded with full kit and a weapon and are feared to have leapt into deeper water than was first thought. The unnamed recruit was unconscious when he was pulled to the surface before being airlifted to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.The accident happened during a training drill at Tregantle beach The Navy said:’We can confirm the sad death of the Royal Marine who was injured in an incident earlier this week.‘The thoughts and sympathies of the Naval Service go out to the family and friends of the individual.This is a breaking news story.
