A ROYAL Marine has died during a beach assault training exercise, the Royal Navy have confirmed.Air ambulance paramedics were called to Tregantle beach in Cornwall on TuesdayOfficials said the commando hopeful had "gone underwater" during training involved recruits bailing out of an assault boat.
A Royal Navy spokesperson said on Saturday afternoon: "We can confirm the sad death of the Royal Marine who was injured in an incident earlier this week and we now ask for a period of grace for the family. “The recruits got off and then went up to their eyeballs in water. It was below freezing and they were all over the place so the crew recovered them.”
