'If diplomacy takes centre stage, and it must, then we also need to be clear diplomatic premises should not be targeted and attacked,' Sir Keir said.Mr Sunak faced demands from senior Tory MPs in the Commons to proscribe Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terror group.
'With regard to destabilising activity here in the UK, he'll know that the Charity Commission very recently have opened an investigation into a particular organisation and we will continue to use all the powers at our disposal to make sure that people aren't fermenting hate and undermining British values here at home from abroad.'
Downing Street earlier said RAF planes have been shifted from Romania to the Middle East as a 'prudent' measure amid rising tensions. The spokesman added: 'We already have a significant presence in the region but as a prudent measure we temporarily moved a number of aircraft from Romania to bolster our existing footprint.
No10 said RAF jets were operating within existing permissions and defined geographic area of the Operation Shader mission against Islamic State. Earlier, Foreign Secretary David Cameron echoed US President Joe Biden's suggestion that Mr Netanyahu should 'take the win' as he toured broadcast studios.
