As a married couple Rishi benefits from her tax position. I like them but this is about fairness at a time when so many are really struggling in the UK. It's not great optics to say the least.
The Times here, calling a true statement 'a smear'. The Chancellor. Who sets tax policy. Is married to a woman who uses non-dom status to avoid UK tax on foreign earnings. By claiming that she does not intend to make the UK her long-term home. Even though she lives over No10!

Aside from the perpetrators motives, he has to explain the matter simply & show others who enjoy this exclusion. It seems unfair to tax someone with similar case but again, explanation necessary!

He’s benefitting from a multimillion pound tax avoidance scheme, that on its face is ridiculous. His wife lives here. She’s lived here for years. They’ve got kids who live here. For him to live off cash shielded from HMRC whilst he raises taxes for everyone else is rancid.
