Perhaps seen as one of the benefits of the “Herd Immunity” strategy. No need to reform the sector, nor fund it. It will simply cease to exist. For a while.

This emergency should tip Tories into getting a social care policy in place as a matter of urgency. But it might, as this article, prove to be too late.

I’m not surprised at all. Bollocks to all politicians talking bullshit dodging answers2 real questions.

LordRennard coyleneil UKLabour DavidLammy are you able to look into this with your new leader Keir_Starmer to avoid this, please?

This is a disaster waiting to happen. The additional deaths caused by the collapse of social care will be remembered as much by history as the ones lost to the virus.

BorisJohnson stood on the steps of No 10 months ago and said he had a plan, ready to roll out. Now would be a really good time.

Social care mostly privatised. Carers paid minimum wage. Profiteering from the owners. It was allowed by Govts of all colours. The people doing this are underpaid and overworked. Average 50 hrs per week. No weekends, no bank holidays, no overtime. Now in personal danger. Heroes!

Care providers have been pushed to the brink of closure because some councils are refusing to release emergency funding made available by the government, while many face staff shortages, a lack of equipment & too few nurses to care for extra patients being discharged by the NHS

Does that surprise when nothing in the budget for social care.

The fourth horseman (Revelation 6: 7-8) symbolizes the beginning of the diseases and pains (Matthew 24: 7; Mark 13: 8; Luke 21: 11) which will ravage a quarter of the earth, through violence, famine and 'The beasts of the earth' - including viruses and bacteria (Revelation 6: 8)
