Another set of rail strikes is set to take place across the UK at the beginning of April, with workers at 16 different rail companies walking out.
This is part of a long-running dispute over pay and conditions, with the union saying train drivers have now not had a pay rise for five years, since April 2019. Members will also refuse to work their rest days from Thursday, April 4 to Saturday, April 6 and from Monday 8 to Tuesday, April 9. “Since then train drivers have voted, time and again, to take action in pursuit of a pay rise. That’s why Mark Harper, the Transport Secretary, is being disingenuous when he says that offer should have been put to members.
