Pubs are meant to be table service only. Keep the front door closed and control the number of people inside. How hard can it be? Pubs should not be crowded. There should be more punishment for the pubs which are not Covid compliant. 4 weeks closure should focus the mind.
I feel sorry for pub landlords, it shouldn't be their responsibility to enforce covid rules; it is up to each individual to do the right thing!
Sorry but that's such a pathetic excuse. His license should be revoked, along with licenses for all pub owners/landlords. The guidance is pretty clear.

Good to see someone take responsibility for their inactions. But as pubs are mainly filled with adults , are people not responsible for their own actions. And realistically can one landlord be expected to control a pub full of drinkers.

Mmm. I've ventured out twice to the pub recently and neither time was I asked for track and trace info. The pubs both had signs, hand gel and had stickers but i wonder how many outbreaks will kick off and be untraceable because no-one is asked to fill in details. Need leadership.
He regrets that he got found out, meanwhile businesses like my employer suffer because a*seholes like this can't follow simple instruction and we continue to wait to be allowed to open despite incredible efforts to ensure covid safety.
I do have sympathy. Can imagine starting with good intentions but so easy for things to slip as people get more intoxicated and you try to actually run the business of serving drinks.
