Why not Liverpool to Hull

There's 3 lines separating manchester to Leeds and none are electrified and all 3 are a ramshackle mess. We need to sort out 2 of them and make them quicker infrastructure is there

Didn't take long for Hull to be dropped from the narrative.

Should go as far as York to connect to East coast main line get some proper connections to further parts of NE

When the 4 carriage train chugs into Huddersfield on its way from Leeds to Manchester everybody thinks wouldn’t it be great if it had 8 carriages. This would double capacity overnight. Half these trains then go on to Warrington and Liverpool. Tactical solutions are needed too!

HS2 is about the corporate house builders getting government subsidies to build sub standard, over priced developments of flatlets, around commuter station locations. With the bailout banks selling debt, leveraged by tax payer subsided, help-to-buy loans. On top of Quadrillion.

And just forget about Sheffield in all this then?

The thought of northerners connecting has never been a sexy notion in Westminster. A bit like feeding rats

Wait, you mean trains have to accelerate to top speed and then decelerate to stopping? If HS2 is cancelled then council tax and car tax won't have to go up. Kinda knocks the fun out of it huh

Boris Johnson to give HS2 green light despite Tory fearsPM will promise range of other infrastructure projects to appease nothern voters It’s actually never about the money and always about the politics. If we fail to see money entirely as a construct of politics, we fail to see at all. Waste of £billions! Thank goodness, this project is vital for meeting our carbon neutral target as it will create a massive impact in rail travel boosting parts of the network by a factor of 3 & reducing short distance flights & distance road use. Failure to deliver makes Britain a laughing stock
