Police said that taking medication which has not been prescribed for you can be dangerous and even fatal

The 24mg pills went missing somewhere between Edge Lane Retail Park and the L8 area, between 12 noon and 1pm today, April 16.

Subutex, also known as buprenorphine, is an opioid used to treat opioid addiction. It is particularly helpful for people dependent on heroin, morphine, oxycodone or codeine. A statement from Merseyside Police said: "We are urging people to be cautious after a quantity of buprenorphine was lost in the Liverpool area today, Tuesday 16th April. The 24mg tablets were lost between 12 noon and 1pm somewhere between Edge Lane retail park and the L8 area. "Officers are reminding people that taking any medication which has not been prescribed for them can be dangerous and, in some circumstances, can prove fatal.

"Anyone who finds any of the medication is asked to hand it in to any pharmacy or police station or contact officers via @MerPolCC or the 101 number quoting log 518 of 16th April."
