A 46-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder

Merseyside Police confirmed officers received reports that a man had been found inside a house on York Road, Huyton , at around 12.15pm on Saturday, April 27. Emergency services attended including the North West Ambulance Service but the man, 41, was confirmed dead at the scene.

Officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident and a file will be prepared for the coroner. The 46-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder has now been released with no further action. It appeared on closer inspection that the door had been forced open, with a yellow piece of police evidence tape securing it closed. A side door accessed behind a garden wall remained open. A local taxi driver told the ECHO he saw "tonnes" of police in the area shortly after dinner time yesterday.
