More than 254,000 people receiving Personal Independence Payments living in Scotland will have their award transferred automatically to Adult Disability Payment before the end of 2025. However, some 78,750 people on Disability Living Allowance are also due to move from the Department for Work and Pensions to the Social Security Scotland IT system before the deadline next year.
Those on DLA don’t need to do anything before the move to ADP or Scottish Adult DLA , but any changes in circumstances should still be reported to the DWP - full details on DLA changes to report can be found on GOV.UK here. This implies that it will not be a benefit anyone can make a new claim for and will only be for existing DLA case transfers from DWP who did not move to ADP before next Spring. We will update this article when more details are announced. When your DLA will move to Scottish Adult DLA People on DLA who do not have their award moved to ADP will transfer to Scottish Adult DLA from Spring 2025. The move will happen in stages.
"Social Security Scotland will automatically take over any payments to Motability after the move. This means there will be no gap in your Motability payments."
