The number of people who have savings in multiple pension pots is growing, with many losing track of their pensions along the way

Almost one in 10 workers believe they have lost a pension pot worth more than £10,000, according to new research conducted by the Centre for Economics and Business Research, on behalf of PensionBee.

The total number of UK pension pots is expected to rocket by 130 per cent by 2050 – up from 106 million to 243 million. Roughly a fifth of the 50 million pots are smaller than £10,000, according to consultancy LCP, as workers move jobs and switch to their new employer’s scheme. This doesn’t mean these pension pots are lost for ever and they’re likely recoverable, said Christopher Breen, head of economic insight at CEBR, said.
