Police Scotland has been urged to make a public statement on Operation Branchform on the first anniversary of the arrest of Nicola Sturgeon 's husband.
The search of Sturgeon's home lasted two days and saw multiple boxes of evidence removed from the detached property in Glasgow's eastern suburbs in full view of the nation's media. But the lack of public updates on Operation Branchform since last year's search of Sturgeon's home has fuelled speculation on social media.
"It's a highly charged political outcome whatever decision is made by Police Scotland and the Crown Office. He told the Record: "I believe there has to be truth, transparency, openness and accountability from Police Scotland in relation to this investigation.

Scottish National Party's treasurer arrested in party finance investigationThe inquiry was launched in July 2021 but took a dramatic turn on April 5 2023 when Murrell was arrested at the home he shares with Sturgeon outside Glasgow. The party's treasurer, Colin Beattie, was also arrested and stood down from his post. A luxury camper van worth £110,000 was seized by police. The investigation is called Operation Branchform.
