Plans to extend shielding to some over-50s this winter have been abandoned after Cabinet ministers mounted a backlash against the proposals.
More likely they killed off the plan because Boris Johnson would have to admit that he's over 50.

BorisJohnson understandably we do not live in a dictatorship-yet... ahem. But there should come a point where the science leads the way and not a bunch of ministers worried about votes or their constituents differing opinions on the matter. The steps forward should be clear
