In January 2022, Paul Drayton pleaded guilty after reversing into a police car while four times over the alcohol limit. He was originally sentenced to 14 weeks in prison but was freed after two nights. The couple had split a week before, when a spokesperson said: "After 13 years as a couple and three years of marriage, Alan Carr and Paul Drayton would like to announce they are separating. They have jointly and amicably made the difficult decision to divorce and go their separate ways."
