It was a fantastic turnout🌈

. The easing of Covid restrictions and the warm summer weather surely played a part in the bigger turnout, but the number of additional stalls added in Market Square and the performances of the high-calibre acts made this year's Pride a stand-out.

The parade itself took off from the Market Square at 11am and a column of colour made its way through Abington Street and St Giles Street. Those in attendance included the emergency services, Stagecoach, Q Space and the University of Northampton.The parade then returned to the Market Square for an afternoon of partying, kicked off with the unusual sight of the Mayor dancing to Queen's 'Don't Stop Me Now'.

Brighton DJ, DJ Lola, was certainly the crowd's favourite, sending the revellers crazy with a mix of dance and pride anthems. 300 people doing the macarena in Northampton Market Square is a sight this reporter will never forget.The Pride parade took off from the Market Square at 11am
