The Scottish Fishermen's Federation praised the deal over the 'most important commercial stocks'.

A deal has been done over UK waters, now it is hoped an agreement can be reached over Norwegian and Faroe seas.

Fishing groups have welcomed the deal, but catch-sector bosses say it does nothing to resolve issues around access to cod-rich Norwegian waters. The Scottish Fishermen's Federation said the UK had felt the benefit of "being at the negotiating table in its own right" over catch limits.

The UK lost access to Norwegian waters, after failing to accept access it had prior to joining the EU, as part of its rollover deal!... Massive own goal!.. Now reliant on others for cod supplies to this country..

What a misleading headline! So overall quota limits are agreed and U.K. boats have half what they had with no reciprocal access to Norwegian waters. Great Brexit outcome.
