Up to 11,000 jobs, including pest and weed control, to be created but critics call for greater emphasis on climate change

More than a billion dollars will be spent by the New Zealand government creating “nature jobs” as part of its a pandemic recovery, including environmental work in regions, but critics expressed dismay there wasn’t more emphasis on climate change.

With such humongous budget, can't help but wonder what percentage of it is really for nature and what goes to shareholders' pockets. businessasusual spendwisely

The PhDs in Climate science are mad because you won't spend that money on studies and conferences for them. Cleaning rivers and removing evasive species wheres the profit in that? They should be throwing that money at green energy investment funds.

I am a scientist and went along with the climate change scientists but with some more reading I no longer believe in climate change. I also realised it is just a Left Wing political agenda. We should burn carbon to recycle it through the system.

Surely a pandemic should make us reassess having a system that promotes profit over health, nutrition, education, biodiversity and global ecology. I'm no expert but shouldn't the heart of any system be human advancement, individual growth, resource optimisation, sustained living.
