Plans for an "unusual" hotel have been approved despite neighbours' fears it will attract "prostitutes and homeless people". The former Wolf Spa building in Kilbourn Street, on the border of St Ann's and Nottingham city centre, can now be turned into an 'air hotel' after Nottingham City Council approved a change of use planning application on Monday, October 23.
"They will use the entry for drugs and a toilet. There will be no staff so there will be a lot of trouble." Another resident added: "Understanding that it would be a no staff place, and entry by card payment."I am absolutely not happy with this as it will lead to nothing but trouble. This kind of business will put my children at huge risk not to mention the noise and anti-social behaviour. We already have so many issues with students around us.
A Nottingham City Council planning officer said the air hotel concept was "unusual" and would lead to a higher turnover of guests, but did not agree with opposing neighbours that it would cause significant amounts of anti-social behaviour.
