A terrified boy and his mum were saved from a shirtless and bloodied man with a knife through the child's bedroom window. Her fiancé had been for a cigarette outside when drugged up Nathan Proctor went into their home, claiming there was someone with a gun who was trying to kill him.
Proctor, who had taken cocaine and alcohol, banged repeatedly on the door whilst the woman pleaded with him to leave them alone. Her fiancé heard their screams and went to his son's bedroom window and helped them escape. Proctor left the address, in Heathfield Way, Mansfield, with the knife in his hand on July 12 last year.He told police he was running for his life from someone with a machete, the court heard.
