An urgent appeal has been launched to find a missing nine-year-old boy last seen at Rivington Pike. James, whose surname has not been disclosed, was last seen at around 12.30pm on Sunday .
He is described as being around 4ft tall, of an average build, with blonde hair. A major search has been launched with pictures of James circulated as part of the public appeal. Specialist mountain rescue teams and police helicopters have also been deployed. Anyone with any information is being urged to contact police immediately.
"James was last seen at Rivington Pike, at 12:30 today riding a blue bike. When he was last seen, he was wearing a black helmet with blue and white stripes, black coat that says 'adventure' on the sleeve and blue sports trousers. He is described as 4FT, of average build with blonde hair. Please be aware that James is autistic and is mainly non verbal.
