A Lanarkshire thug who brought an XL Bully dog to a targeted attack on a rival has been jailed for two years. Joseph Buchannan hacked his victim across the face with a machete leaving him scarred for life.

A Lanarkshire thug who used an XL Bully dog during a slashing attack on a rival has been jailed for two years.

Buchannan tried to barge into the property in Motherwell, Lanarkshire, with the dog while Johnston and a friend desperately tried to keep him out.READ MORE: More footage of Glasgow's Kingston Bridge 'fight' shows two women trade blows on busy M8 "When the door was answered he asked for Mr Johnston and as he attended the accused immediately tried to punch him in the face but missed."He then attempted to force entry into the flat to continue the attack but the complainer and his friend jumped backwards and were forcing the door closed.

Man dies after crash with tree in South LanarkshireA man has died after a crash with a tree in South Lanarkshire. Emergency services raced to the A726 near Millwell Road in Chapelton after the alarm was raised at around 5.40pm on Friday.
