Sunderland produced a disciplined, resolute defensive performance to leave Elland Road with a share of the spoils this evening

Mike Dodds has expressed his pride over the way his Sunderland team "completely nullified" Leeds United's attacking threat at Elland Road. The mid-table Black Cats, who had only won one of their last 10 matches, have now taken four points off the Whites this season.

"I was a little bit disappointed with our quality with the ball," Dodds told Sky Sports. "I think the game could have been a lot easier for us if we had had better quality with the ball. We were excellent without the ball and completely nullified all their threat, if I am honest. "We had the better of the chances, even though they were few and far between. I am really proud of the group. That's a fourth clean sheet in five games, albeit in one of those games we did concede five.

"We can't celebrate too much because the reality is it is a draw; we are Sunderland football club and we want to win games of football but there's a lot to be happy about."
