Doctors can stop providing life-support treatment to brain-damaged baby Midrar Ali, the Court of Appeal has ruled

.

Three appeal judges have upheld last month's High Court ruling that found Midrar was brain stem dead and it is in his best interests to halt the treatment so he could have a"kind and dignified death".Bosses at St Mary's Hospital in Manchester later said Midrar should be taken off the life-support treatment in a decision supported by Mrs Justice Lieven at the Family Division of the High Court in January.

They later appealed the decision, of which their arguments were heard by Sir Andrew McFarlane, Lord Justice Patten and Lady Justice King at the Court of Appeal in London earlier this week.

I really do not understand why they are fighting this? The poor lamb would have no quality of life if he did survive. It’s a heartbreaking decision, but after being with my dad in critical care, you KNOW in your heart they are not strong enough to go on

Why would they keep him alive anyway. His life would non-existent. If the parents paid privately to give him everything then great.

Have you been dreaming? What's in your dream?

Looks like chewbacca

Parents of brain-damaged baby lose life support legal battleFather describes decision as ‘terrible’ after appeals court rules son is brain stem dead Your report says 'brain stem dead' not brain-damaged. Surely that means the child is brain dead and its body just kept alive by medical technology? Sorry if this sounds mean but with a dead brainstem that seems like the right thing, it just causes lots of unnessessary suffering as there really is no hope. Are they related?
