Microsoft is reportedly ready to fight what it expects to be opposition from the UK's competition regulator. According …

According to four people"briefed on the matter who were not authorised to speak publicly", Microsoft hopes"to convince both Britain and the European Union to accept its concessions and approve the deal, which could make it easier for the company to reach an agreement with the FTC before the scheduled administrative trial starts in the summer".As Tom recently summarised for us, the EU's intent to object to Microsoft's proposed $68.

. Now it has been finalised - and Microsoft has said it was"confident" it could address the issues raised.- and to the other authorities which have expressed objections - to get the deal approved. Indeed, the EU's warning was the next step along that path while informal dialogue on what those concessions might be continues behind the scenes.

I live in the uk where Sony is king and they release games year in year out with there publishers, Xbox don’t no what there doing when it comes to making games, so block the 💩 out of it and give it to Sony 😂, jeez just look at the state of halo 😂

MS can't run any of their acquisitions properly other than Turn10. Why would anyone cheer-lead taking another developer out of the picture?

If the CMA follow their usual pattern, when dealing with other deals, they’ll insist Microsoft sells something off to balance it out. Not sure what they’ll sell though, maybe some other studios.

I don’t know why people want Microsoft to keep buying studios. They can even run the ones they have properly.

The UK government can always be bought. Spineless

All Microsoft has to do is offer a Tory MP some cash and it will pass as that's how the UK Government works under the Tory Party all Government contacts go to people that give them the most money so why wouldn't this be the same

Microsoft just needs to bribe them, the only thing they really care about here is lining their own pockets, a envelope under the table would get a 👍

UK knows nothing

As a UK, I confirm we don't

Microsoft 'listening' as EU joins others in formally contesting Activision Blizzard dealMicrosoft has responded to the European Union's now-formalised antitrust warning, slapped down to contest its attempt a… What do you mean by 'joins'? Aren't EU bodies actually the only real opponent to this deal, as opposed to the FTC which contests basically *any* deal of this scale so a to appropriately evaluate the minutia and whether it would be harmful?

Microsoft is reportedly expecting the UK to oppose its Activision Blizzard deal | VGCMicrosoft is reportedly expecting the UK’s regulator to oppose its acquisition of Activision Blizzard, after the EU issued its own antirust warning this week. They'll do ten times more work at this than looking into how badly activision blizzard treated the people working there Source: trust me Imagine you're the CMA trying to defend Sony, you receive better arguments by MS than by Sony, a survey you started is in favour of MS by 3/4 and you still try to oppose it. What a joke lol

Overwatch 2 is targeting players who play with cheaters even if they're not cheating themselvesOver 50,000 accounts have been 'actioned' for cheating since launch, and Blizzard's had enough. Miss you OW1 Ow2 has been a let down for the most part. It just took away a roaster slot, Changed some heros for the worst, and all and all has just been a cash grab for mid cosmetics and battle passes that take decades and lock heroes behind a paywall. Gaming devs need to start tackling cheating again. They shouldn't lump legit players in with cheaters.
