I'm suprised that Sony fans want this deal to fail. I play on PlayStation and would rather this go through than what will happen if it doesn't, which is that they will buy up smaller publishers and lock down more niche games instead of call of duty, a game that's had it's day.
Ngl this deal seems like it will get blocked. Two anti-trust agencies going against it makes that pretty clear. Activision gonna have some major downscaling if this doesn’t go through. They can’t sustain the entire company off of only cod

Microsoft could just, you know, create new IPs of their own like their competitors and actually compete instead of asking OTHERS to compete as an answer to them buying a huge chunk of the gaming industry? Just an idea... Just make new fucking games from IPs you already own 🙄

It's not opposition yet. It's proper procedure. The FTC is the only regulatory body actually opposing. The FTC is using bureaucracy to delay & openly states ideology. The EU & CMA must scrutinize & relay their concerns for rebuttal BEFORE OPPOSING. The FTC is opposing. Period.

CMAgovUK truly has no idea about the gaming market if it ends up opposing the deal. I've never seen any regulator attempt to parrot and strengthen positions by the dominant leader in an industry, especially when their fortunes are increasing at expense of others.
