Michael Schumacher's debut F1 car from 1991, last driven by Michael’s son Mick Schumacher at Silverstone in 2021 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of his father’s F1 debut, is now up for sale. The motor racing legend drove many cars throughout his iconic career and the very first one will now go under the hammer.
It will be part of the Les Grandes Marques du Monde à Paris auction with an estimated value of €1.4 – €2 million . Since the 1991 season, the car has changed hands several times and was last up for sale in 2021.
Though it was a proud moment for Schumacher senior to make his F1 debut in the car, it did not go according to plan - he retired on the first lap after burning out the clutch. Jordan had drafted in Schumacher for the weekend to replace Bertrand Gachot, who got into legal trouble and was being held in police custody ahead of the 1991 Grand Prix.
