A mixture of rain, hail and snow showers are forecast over Lancashire today - and these Met Office maps show the exact times the snow is expected.
Met Office precipitation maps show that from 6.15pm, snow will fall in Padiham and the move over Burnley by 6.30pm. Parts of Lancaster are then forecast to see snowfall at 7pm before the snow hits Burnley again and also Rossendale at 7.45pm.Maps then show the potential for the white stuff to fall in the Forest of Bowland at 9.15pm before more now falls in Rossendale and Burnley at 9.30pm. This will last for up to two hours with Darwen also expected to see some snowfall by 10.15pm.
The alert also covers other watercourses from Whittle-Le-Woods and Chorley to Croston including Leyland, Coppull, Eccleston, Lostock Hall and Bamber Bridge. The Environment Agency said river levels are 'remaining high' due to continuing rainfall and 'flooding is forecast' to affect locations near both rivers.
Heavy downpours and strong gusts could also bring flooding and disruption to other parts of England and Wales on Thursday. A yellow warning for rain is in place across the West Midlands, South Wales and south-west England until 2pm with some places forecast to see 20-30mm of rain, according to the Met Office.
