A yellow weather warning issued by the Met Office for large parts of the country, including some of Nottinghamshire, comes into force this afternoon. The weather warning is in place from 3pm today until 9am tomorrow morning .
The Met Office has said that rain may cause some travel disruption and flooding later Saturday through to Sunday morning. The warning affects a swathe of the county, which includes Hucknall, Newark and the city of Nottingham. The forecaster expects bus and train services in certain areas to be affected, meaning journey times could take longer. Spray and flooding on roads could also increase travel times.Flooding of homes is likely especially in areas which have already been saturated with rain and wintry showers in the past few weeks and there is always the possibility of some interruption to power supplies and other services. It's important to stay safe on the roads during harsh conditions.
