Proud Boys and antifa: When a right-wing activist met a left-wing anti-fascist

Proud Boy Rob Cantrall and anti-fascist activist Luis Enrique Marquez

Two activists who have been on opposite sides in the Portland clashes agreed to meet and talk. But would they have any common ground? We had agreed to meet on neutral ground - a cannabis club in east Portland. Recreational use of weed is legal in Oregon, and one thing Luis and Rob have in common is that they think liberalising drug laws is a good idea.

These two men, separated by a wide table, are sworn enemies. They've met on the street, and online they've sent threats and abuse back and forth.season, we asked them to meet to see whether people at political extremes in the US could find any common ground.Three burly security guards watch over us as I read out the rules:"Number one, no violence.""I feel so much more like I'm interacting with you if I could see your eyes," he says.

akmk False equivalence. Being anti fascist is not an extreme position.

good story..we don't get enough of this kind of coverage on npr

“Antifa” is a bunch of violence loving thugs.

And this article is supposed to be non bias? BBC you are a joke! (By the way both groups suck!)

Purposely referring one as an activist and not the other.

They both can suckit. Proud Boys got way out of control, and Antifa is an intellectual cancer.

American rubbish complete rubbish

This shows Proud boys almost beating a guy to death while the police stand there. The Antifa version of police behavior with the proud boys appears, no surprise, no equivocation condemning Nazi stoppers!

They aren't even in the same league, Patriot Prayer got caught setting up literal snipers nests overlooking protests, and are linked to murderers left right and centre; antifascists don't do either

Two side's of the same coin

Antifa is designated as a terrorist organization by the FBI and DHS , but yeah, 'anti-fascist'

'In the future the Fascists will call themselves anti fascists' Winston Churchill.

If they're 'anti-fascist' then I'm Bigfoot

You meant to say “left-wing facist”. Really you must’ve.

Can already tell this will be a completely honest and unbiased report.

Only communists introduce themselves as anti-fascists.

They boned

Why not left wing activist? Showing your bias much

To equip young people for today’s world, education needs to be political | Tom WhymanA new ‘interdisciplinary university’ is a start to helping students see the world’s problems morally, not just theoretically, says academic philosopher Tim Whyman Education should be objective. Period. Unless it’s politics you disagree with, obviously. Then it’s far right indoctrination and a damning indictment of our fascist system and our Owen is going to thcweam and thcweam until he’s sick! Needs to be godly. Politics just doesn't answer the big questions or give the best solutions. It can simply make enemies of people who have different politics. Whereas godliness is about truth and unifies against the enemy of all our souls, the one who sows lies&hatred of people.

‘Starbucks on steroids’: can America’s new weed cafes make smoking social?Recreational marijuana is legal in Canada and parts of the US, but for the most part it’s not allowed in public spaces Absolutely! It's a gold mine. Celebrity endorsements. Corporate give away games. Movie, TV and social media product placements. Then, they'll find that it's really bad for you. Congress will ban advertisements. Over taxed to discourage use. Treatment centers popping up everywhere Little fact : when ppl smoke pot they only get 40-60% of the THC but when they eat it they get 89-94% of the THC! Amsterdam did it decades ago, weed bars will eventually put Starbucks out of business.
