For 'people of Black origin, 17% of them have antibodies'

The expert noted that people who have contracted other viruses may only have immunity for a short period after suffering from the illness.Turning her attention to the findings for the study, she went on: ‘It’s very worrying for people of the BAME origin, it gives us a good idea why places like Leicester, Oldham and so on are showing such high cases because the more people in your household the more people likely you are to have been infected.

‘And if you live in a household with six or more people, about 12% of them have been infected, which shows if it is harder to self isolate it’s easier to spread there.’Health Minister Edward Argar has championed the study and noted how it is an important development in the fight against coronavirus. ‘We don’t yet know that antibodies provide immunity to coronavirus, but the more information we can gather on this virus, and the easier we can make it for people to participate in these studies, the better equipped we will be to respond.
